California is moving decisively toward heat pumps. Between updated Title 24 building energy standards and the ongoing transition away from older refrigerants under EPA rules, a heat pump isn’t just the energy-smart choice — it’s increasingly the future-proof one. For LADWP customers in Los Angeles, the timing has never been better to act.
Don’t miss out. Check Rebate Availability.
Multiple programs can be combined on a single installation where program rules allow, which means your total incentive can add up quickly on a 3- or 4-ton system.
A note on federal tax credits: The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Section 25C) applied to qualifying installations completed through December 31, 2025, and is not available for 2026 installations. If you installed a qualifying system in 2025, that credit may still be claimable on your 2025 return — consult a tax professional.
We identify every program you qualify for, prepare the rebate paperwork, and submit applications on your behalf wherever the program allows. Rebate funding is limited and approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

LADWP customers may be eligible, subject to program availability, for up to $2,500 per ton on qualifying heat pump HVAC systems purchased and installed on or after November 1, 2025, and $100 to $120 per ton on standard high-efficiency systems. Burbank Water and Power offers $1,000 per ton up to $2,500 for standard customers, and up to $5,000 for income-qualified residents and affordable housing providers. SCE offers a $75 smart thermostat enrollment bill credit, with up to $125 total available through ongoing participation. The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Section 25C) applied only to improvements made through December 31, 2025 and is not available for 2026 installations. Affordable Heating and Air helps customers identify and apply for current rebates. Verify program availability before scheduling.
Yes. Modern heat pumps operate efficiently at temperatures far below anything a Southern California winter produces. A properly sized heat pump provides both heating and cooling in a single system and, subject to program availability, may qualify for LADWP rebates of up to $2,500 per ton on qualifying installations.
Set your HVAC system to recirculation mode to limit outdoor air intake, upgrade to MERV 13 or higher filters if your system supports them, and schedule a professional duct cleaning if smoke has entered your home. Affordable Heating and Air also installs whole-home air purifiers, such as iWave and REME HALO, for continuous protection against wildfire smoke and other airborne pollutants.
As a general guide, if your system is under 10 years old and the repair costs less than $500, repair is usually the right choice. If the system is 15 or more years old and a repair would cost more than half the price of replacement, replacement typically makes better financial sense, especially with current LADWP heat pump rebates available to offset the cost. Our technicians provide an honest assessment based on your system’s actual condition.

Our Chatsworth office covers the San Fernando Valley and Greater Los Angeles, including Northridge, Granada Hills, Porter Ranch, Van Nuys, Glendale, and Santa Clarita. Overall, the tone is decidedly positive, with customers expressing trust, satisfaction, and willingness to recommend the service to others, reflecting a company that delivers reliable, customer-focused HVAC solutions.
Benji was excellent, provided a great and thorough estimate.
I replaced the existing gas furnace with a new high-efficiency model to enhance heating reliability, airflow performance, safety, and overall system efficiency. This upgrade reduces the risk of future breakdowns and improves comfort and equipment performance. The process involved disconnecting and removing the old furnace, disposing of the equipment, and installing the new unit. I reconnected the gas line, venting, drain, electrical, and thermostat wiring, ensuring all connections were adjusted and sealed properly. I verified gas pressure and temperature rise, tested the blower, safety controls, ignition, and heating operation, and ensured proper airflow and thermostat communication. The final startup and performance testing confirmed optimal system performance.

I completed a comprehensive HVAC installation, featuring a Carrier Comfort 4 TON Up To 18 SEER2 Inverter Heat Pump Condenser and a matching 4 TON 48K BTU Air Handler Unit. The system includes a 17 Communicating Inverter WiFi Thermostat for smart control. I also installed a CAP GAS LINE, blew out the existing condensation line, and added a condenser pad. Electrical and plumbing connections were made, including a drain pan and supply-plenum. Ductwork was replaced with R8 insulation, and supply registers were sealed. The job was completed with LA County Permit and Title 24 HERS Testing.

I completed a comprehensive 2-ton gas changeout, installing a 2-ton Affordable up to 15 SEER condenser, a 2-ton 96% AFUE ULN Variable Speed furnace, and a 3-ton evaporator coil. The existing equipment was removed and hauled away. Additional installations included an electrical service disconnect box, electrical whip, flex gas line, electrical pigtail, PVC flue vent, condenser pad, and SS2 safety shut-off switch. The AC line set was flushed, and connections were made to existing electrical, low voltage, and gas circuits. The ductwork was replaced with R8 insulated material, and new return and supply plenums were installed. Standard warranties and a 2-year labor warranty on ductwork were provided.

So thankful for the excellent service and prompt solution provided today to address a problem with my HVAC.
I had an appointment for a check up on my air conditioner system. Robert was very polite, professional and very welcoming. I had a problem with my dogs eating thru wires on condenser and he tried to repair. I appreciate his dedication and patience. My only negative comment is that I paid for a service that told me I needed additional repairs and he wasn’t able really check on system because it would not come on. So I paid for the advisement that I needed more work done?
